Mauna Lani, South Kohala

A resort condominium at Mauna Lani, taken back to the walls, rebuilt as one job and handed back fully furnished, with the lanai opening over the old fishponds to the sea.

Scope

Design · Resort Condo Renovation

A resort home, renewed

Mauna Lani Terrace sits at the edge of the Kalāhuipuaʻa fishponds, where the ancient ponds meet the palms and the beach is a short walk past the hotel. The owners wanted the unit to feel like a home rather than a rental. We took it back to the walls and changed all of it: kitchen, floors, baths, finishes, light.

The living room now runs straight through to the lanai and the water, with louvered shutters to soften the afternoon. In the kitchen, white oak, honed black stone and a hand-set tile wall do the talking under a row of glass pendants.

Turnkey

The unit was handed back fully furnished by Restoration Hardware, down to the last chair. Design and construction ran as one job, under one contract, inside a working resort. The owners arrived to a finished home.
